The Borno State government said on Wednesday, June 17, that it has reviewed upward the 7 pm to 6 am curfew inMaiduguri due to the Ramadan fast.
Governor Kashim Shettima disclosed this in a radio and television broadcast to the state in Maiduguri.
Shettima said that the curfew will now hold between 9.30 pm and 6 am daily.
He said that the new curfew period will be effective as from Thursday, June 18.
Shettima said that the objective is to allow Muslim faithful in the state perform their religious obligations during the fasting period.
